Templeton Presbyterian Church

Our WORSHIP is inclusive, which means we embrace a blend of worship preferences, drawing upon the best of what is new and old, innovative and traditional, current and historical, free and structured.  We enjoy praise through music and song from our worship band, piano, and choirs (vocal and handbell); preaching that is grounded in the authority of God's Word; and prayer before, during, and after the service.  Children and adults together share in the worship during the opening elements, after which our young ones are dismissed through prayer to their TPC Kids time.

We are here for you

Our COMMUNITY is "inter-generational", which means we span in ages under 1 to over 90, all who engage together in worship, study, and mission.  We have a robust children's and youth ministry, adult discipleship groups, and senior fellowship activities, all seeking to embody what it means to live in genuine love and hospitality for one another, regardless of where we may be in our journey toward wholeness.

Our MISSION is "small town/big world", which means we are committed to involvement in local missions such as feeding the hungry and housing the homeless (e.g., ECHO), reaching out to students (e.g., Youth for chirst, Front Porch Cal Poly), as well as global missions such as safe water in third world countries, orphanages and schools in Uganda, China, and Thailand (e.g., ZOZU), justice for abused women in India (CSJ), and supporting churches in areas of persecution in the Middle East (Turkey, Iran).

Our THEOLOGY is "Christ-centered", and you can see what that means in "WHAT WE BELIEVE".

Introduce people to Jesus

We strive to help people move closer to an understanding and experience of Jesus.
We want the way we live our lives to spark an interest in other people to know Jesus.

Include people in his church

We want visitors to feel welcome when they attend services and activities.  We want everyone to feel the love, warmth, peace, and unity of the fellowship of our congregation.

Imitate his life

We seek to become more mature disciples of Jesus Christ and ultimately the kind of people he has designed us to be.

Ignite service in his name

We are here to serve Christ in this church and in the world, using our collection of gifts and skills to benefit others.

Inspire glory for God

We share in experiencing God's power and love through the joy and power of worship when we gather together.

Pastor Roger Patton

Pastor Roger is a native Tennessean having lived most of his life in the Nashville, TN area.  He is a graduate of Belmont University, Memphis Theological Seminary and a current doctoral student at the Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, CA.

Pastor Roger comes to Templeton Pres. from the Nolensville Community Church of Nolensville, TN, where he was the founding pastor.  Pastor Roger has been in the ministry for over 20 years having served as a student pastor, interim pastor, adjunct faculty member and Senior pastor.  His passion for ministry is to make the Bible alive and relevant for today’s generation and to shepherd both congregation and community as the hands and feet of Christ.

In his spare time, he likes to work out, collect records, enjoy nature and as his wife likes to say; “play around in the dirt.”

Pastor Roger is married to Keris and together they have two children: Hunter and Hannah.  The Patton’s are very proud to call Templeton home and they are excited to serve this congregation and community.

Dave Johnson

After about 10 years of working in youth ministry with camps such as Hume Lake, Forest Home and Sugar Pine, in the Fall of 2018 the Lord opened the door for me to begin serving as the Director of Student Ministries here at Templeton Presbyterian Church.

My wife Cady, is a graduate of Cal Poly SLO and since married, we have always had a deep desire to serve the local church on the central coast, especially here in North County.  We have two daughters under 3 years old, Harper and Ryleigh!

Along with serving the youth of TPC in both Middle School and High School Ministries, I am currently serving as an Assistant High School Football Coach at Templeton High School. I truly believe our ministry is not just about teaching our students ABOUT our faith, but LIVING out our faith with our students.

I am currently attending Westminster Theological Seminary, pursuing a Masters degree in Theological Studies and pursuing ordination with ECO-Pres.

Diane Terrell

Children are a gift from God and I am inspired to help kids follow Him as they navigate life's adventures.  I joined TPC in November of 2020 as the Director of Children's Ministry and am blessed and grateful for the opportunity to work with the families and children.  I am a mother, wife, and past Christian educator.  I was a teacher for 5 years.
I graduated from Cal Poly, SLO in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a minor in Agriculture Business.  On my time off, you can catch my family and me horseback riding, hiking, camping, 4-wheeling, or tending to our dairy goat herd.  My family and I are very active and involved in 4H.
Our children's ministry program is fun, engaging, and practical to the lives of your children.  We are focused on bulding meaningful relationships with Jesus, being involved in ministry in our church and community, and exploring our faith.  Come join us on Sunday mornings!  Hope to see you soon!

Kellie Wenzel

Kellie loves music and worship! Music brings joy to people’s life and worship brings purpose.

At age 11, when God drew Kellie to Himself and she surrendered her life over to Him, she took the gift that God gave her, of voice, and started singing for Him and trying to motivating His people into His presence through worship ever since.

She has been leading worship for over 30 years starting in High school and now where she is currently the worship leader for the past 6 years at Templeton Presbyterian Church in Templeton, CA.

She has traveled extensively all over the world singing at different, large to small, events doing conferences to empower women.

She has a CD out of songs she has written, but in all reality, Kellie doesn't sing to perform, she sings to motivate people, to draw people's hearts closer to God. To know, that through music, through the words of the songs, it can create a deeper understand, and surrendering to the ALL Powerful God, who wants to have an intimate fellowship/relationship with each and everyone of us. Music is a powerful tool to grab our hearts attention, and so her focus has always been worship.
