THANKS, MOM
What comes to mind when we think about our mothers? A poem.
Compassion. Joy. Love. Empathy. Understanding.
Super hero. Wearer of many capes.
Cooking, cleaning, organizing,
healer of bumps, bruises and scrapes.
A rolodex of info pertaining to each child because at times,
us mothers know things can get a little wild.
Who likes to eat what for all of our meals,
who doesn't like that specific ingredient.
One half a lasagna has this and that
and the other half simply didn't. - Shelly Pinney
A mother is a selfless, loving human who must sacrifice many of their wants and needs for the wants and needs of their children. A mother works hard to make sure their child is equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities to make it as a competent human being. A mother is in charge of keeping everything and everyone in order. Many of us remember our mothers coming into our rooms at night and saying our prayers with us before kissing us goodnight. When we think back to our first introduction to our faith, our mothers have been wonderful examples and teachers of showing us God's love. Without God's love and the love of a mother, I think the world would be a much darker place. I am thankful for all the many mothers across the world modeling Jesus’ example of God's commandment to love as Jesus has loved you. I leave you with Proverbs explaining what a mother does. Please if you have the opportunity to speak to your mom still, call her, go visit her, and tell her how much you love and adore her.
Proverbs 31:25-27 "Strength and honor are her clothing; she is confident about the future. Her mouth is full of wisdom; kindly teaching is on her tongue. She is vigilant over the activities of her household; she doesn't eat the food of laziness."
